Invisible Children
Sunday, June 4th was "Mission's Sunday" at Skyline, and the Young Married's Class had an opportunity to view the rough cut of the DVD about the Invisible Children of northern Uganda.
The DVD told the moving and tragic story of thousands of children ages 5 to 14 who are forced to leave their homes each night to sleep in bus stations and hospitals in order to avoid being abducted and conscripted into the Rebel army, where they are trained to kill or are killed themselves.
Several class members expressed their dismay at the situation, and asked what they can do to help. The makers of the DVD have a website, which you can visit here.
At that site you can learn more about the invisible children of Uganda, donate funds to the cause, and volunteer your time. The group is based in San Diego, and offers several opportunities to help do whatever you feel called to in an effort to stop the horrors that are occurring.
You can contact the people organizing the effort to assist the invisible children here.
